Anne Barberin is the foster mother of Remi, who calls her "Mother Barberin." Her true daughter is Nana. Anne's husband, Jerome, found Remi abandoned as a baby on an alleyway in Paris during a cold winter. When Jerome brought Baby Remi to Chavanon Village, Anne, who was very depressed at that time because of loosing a baby to an illness, was suddenly filled with joy in her heart.
