A happy go lucky member of the Coppelion Rescue unit. While not possessing any superhuman abilities, she is good listener, willing to hear other's problems. She eats a lot and has a fondness for sweets, however, she has a tendency to panic when faced with difficult situations. Among the three, she is the one who carry most of their provisions. It is later revealed that she does in fact wield special abilities, but she is not consciously aware of how to use them; though when pushed into a corner, she may unconsciously unleash said abilities. In order to make full use of her power, Aoi has to enter an "awakened" state in which a dissociate personality known as Izanami Jyugotenshi -- whom Aoi unconsciously created during her school days -- will achieve dominance of her body and make unrestrained use of her surprisingly overwhelming powers, which appear to be largely related to psychic phenomena (i.e. levitation, psychokinesis, etc). Despite being opposites, Aoi and Izanami generally share the same desires, so when the latter is in control, she will accomplish what Aoi wanted to, but couldn't. When she exits her awakened state, Aoi is left in an exhausted state (because of her low physical stamina) and cannot remember anything that happened while she was awakened. In the manga, she is later trained how to use her abilities without having to enter her awakened state, however, her abilities are not only less powerful than Izanami's, but the duration in which she can use them is less (though she's still impressively powerful).
