He was the one who organized the first meeting of players to form a raid party to take on the first floor boss. He organized the participating players well into groups according to their specialty and displayed great leadership to motivate and lead the raid party. He is also a beta tester of Sword Art Online but pretended to be a newbie player to escape the wrath of the players against them. He used Kibaou to strike a hidden deal with Kirito via Argo's services. Kirito thought that it was a ploy to have him be cautious and lose focus so that he will be placed at the back of the raid party and not get the Last Attack on Ilfang, the Kobold Lord. But in truth he did that to make Kirito notice that he is also a beta tester as Diabel heard of Kirito's skills in floor clearing in the beta testing. He died in the boss' hands as he did not notice the changes in the boss' attack patterns. His last words to Kirito was to defeat the boss.
