He tried to stop King, but it ended horribly with King's family slaughtered. Before the Ultimate Shadow Stone was placed inside his body, Gale felt the fury of his former friend's rage when his face was scarred and his wife killed before his eyes. He later reappeared and helped his son defeat King, and eventually sacrificed his life to save Haru before the tower's collapse.
