Jousei Shonan 3rd Year Birthday: 10 December (Sagittarius) Height: 176cm Play Style: "Style of the Pretender"—imitates play styles of top pros like Agassi, Sampras, and so on, including signature moves, facial expressions and mannerisms. Can play baseline, serve and volley, etc. Special Move: Change Over! (a nearly mahou shoujo display seen when swapping playstyles) Family: unknown, but mentions that both his parents are huge tennis fans Jousei Shonan's smug "idol" complete with screaming fangirls in tow (much to the consternation of his teammates), Wakato gets Jousei's singles off to a strong start with his flashy "Style of the Pretender"—the ability to copy almost perfectly top-ranked pros like Andre Agassi, Lleyton Hewitt, Pete Sampras, Boris Becker, Goran Ivanišević, etc. After determining his opponent's strengths and weaknesses, Wakato selects an appropriate counter style, but he can and does change style mid-match. He enjoys taunting other players, but can lose his cool if the match starts to go south. Behind his laid-back playboy exterior is a perfectionist who spends hours practicing in secret to master his form. In the anime's Jr. Senbatsu arc, attends as one of Jousei's invitees along with Kajimoto and Shinjou. Note: Appears in the anime only; does not appear in the manga.
