One of the characters for hire in Samurai Champloo, he seems to be an old man scared of a dog, but names himself a samurai. In the second anime chapter of Samurai Champloo he skirmishes with Jin but since Ryūjir� Sasaki had died due to Oniwakamaru strangling him to death he was forced into retreat since no one was going to pay him.
