Kakeru is one of Hayato's friends. He is in the football club. He has feelings for Hina and is the only guy in class who often supports Hina's scripts. (Source: Wikipedia) During the school trip, he tried to confess his feelings to Ebina and ask her out, thus he asked the Service Club for help. They reluctantly agree, even though they all suspect she will turn him down. Later on, Ebina herself appears in the Club and asks Hachiman for help, indirectly asking him to "set things right" so that things wouldn't get awkward between her and her friends when she turned him down. He then solves the problem the only way he knows how: by sacrificing himself in front of everyone. Thus resulting in him getting hurt and hurting Yukino and Yui's feelings, and almost leading to the end of their friendship.
