Nangou is a large man who lacks complete courage to gamble. In the beginning he has a gambling addiction and is 3,000,000 yen in debt. He decides to play one last game of mahjong with the group which will either end in complete payment of his debt by the yakuza or his untimely death. Luckily, the young Akagi Shigeru wanders into the mahjong parlor, and the rest is history.
