S�ichir� is the head of the Shimogamo family and the father of the Shimogamo siblings. He is a well-known great tanuki of Kyoto, respected for uniting the tanuki society. He once transformed into a mountain to scare the Kurama tengus away in what is known as the False Nyoigatake Incident. He was eaten as an ingredient in a hot pot.
