She was a member of the idol group Sakura Gakuin. Now is the lead singer of the band BABYMETAL, where she goes by the name "SU-METAL", along with fellow members Yui Mizuno as "YUIMETAL", and Moa Kikuchi as "MOAMETAL".

She was born in Hiroshima and now lives there too.
